Sep. 26th, 2006 06:35 pmОказывается, Остин Мотор Компани для празднования столетия завода в Лонгбридже пыталась одолжить у петербургского Артиллерийского Музея небезызвестный броневик "Враг Капитала":
Another welcome contribution has come from Digby Jones, the Director General of the C.B.I. Digby, it should be mentioned was actually born above Longbridge Post Office. Through the good offices of the C.B.I. Digby has been in contact with the British Ambassador in Moscow to try and secure the release (on loan) of the Austin Armoured Car from the Artillery Museum in St Petersburg. It would appear that subject to a number of ‘conditions’ and no doubt miles of red tape, the directors of the museum do not have any objection to making it available to us.

Пикник, видимо, был намечен на прошлый год. Интересно, поделился ли Петербург броневичком. Или буржуи сами передумали, узнав, что броневик - (1) так называемый Остин-Путиловец, российской сборки на английском шасси, а главное - (2) не ленинский совершенно.
Впрочем, второе вытекает из первого - в апреле 1917 Остинов-Путиловцев ещё не существовало в природе.
